Start off just south of Medora at the highly acclaimed and reasonably priced public course, Bully Pulpit. Hop on the golf trail – the Lewis and Clark golf trail - which consists of 20 North Dakota golf courses. Bismarck-area golf courses, located south of the center of the state, make up the majority of these courses, including the famed Hawktree Golf Club golf course. Greens fees top out at $60 and black sand bunkers will have you doing a double take every time your white pebble lands softly on the dark sand (try to avoid the traps, but the urge to hit from black sand will overcome you). That sand gets muddy quickly as thunderstorms may be a problem in the summer especially if you schedule your North Dakota tee time for late afternoon.
