  3. County Waterford
Situated along the southeast coast of Ireland, County Waterford boasts 49 beaches and over 90 miles of coastline. A large portion of the seashore, called the Copper Coast, has been designated a UNESCO Geopark. It also has a stunning landscape of river valleys shaped by the Rivers Suir and Blackwater, expansive lakes, and the dramatic but still accessible mountain ranges of Comeragh and Knockmealdown. While it may have an unrivaled natural setting, Waterford is more known for its famous crystal, which is made in the capital, Waterford City. Founded by Vikings in 914, it is Ireland's oldest city. Naturally, it is home to many historical sites as well as prehistoric attractions including the field monuments in the Dungarvan area. Dunmore East, a charming fishing village, is also worth a visit for its popular Bluegrass festival and the challenging Dunmore East Golf Club, which offers panoramic views of the village and the Waterford Harbour Estuary. All of the courses in Waterford take advantage of the stunning landscape and ocean views but each one still maintains a different set of challenges and a unique character.
