Located in Ireland's southwest, County Clare is a largely rural county with many picturesque villages. Most notably, the county's west side is home to the Cliffs of Moher is one of the world's great wonders, a high, sheer face that meets the waves of the Atlantic.
The county is one of the two main counties that make up golf in Southwest Ireland, along with County Kerry to the south of the River Shannon. In Clare, Lahinch Golf Club dates back to the mid 19th century and is considered to be the "St. Andrews of Ireland" for its rich golfing heritage.
