Brooks Golf Club in the southern Alberta prairies is a golf facility that delights players of all skill levels. Located on Highway 1 in the City of Brooks, the highly rated club boasts a traditional parkland-style golf course and excellent practice facilities. The club has entertained golfers since 1936, but the course that players take on nowadays is the product of a major renovation in 2011 by Puddicome Golf. The par-72 playing field features four sets of tees that range from 5,429 yards to 6,577 yards. Trees loosely line the fairways of this mostly flat, very walkable layout that is located in town. Some houses pop up beside a few fairways. Brooks Golf Club features a nicely varied collection of holes. The chief defenses of the course are small lakes and a creek that you must hit over a few times. Most players do their scoring on the front nine before the water becomes more troublesome on the back nine. Brooks Golf Club s greens received the most attention from the renovation project. On holes 1-7 they were completely rebuilt. Though expanded, the putting surfaces at Brooks Golf Club still present rather small targets. The greens roll fast and true. Practice facilities include a driving range, chipping green, sand bunker and putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a restaurant. Brooks Golf Club's season typically runs from late April until the end of October or November, but the opening and closing dates are weather dependent. For a true prairie golf experience in southern Alberta, make a tee time to play the friendly, beautiful, and fun Brooks Golf Club.
