The 27-hole North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club, along with the adjacent 18-hole South Course, make up a premier, upscale, public golf facility just north of Ajax, Ontario. Located about 35 miles northeast of Toronto, the club is widely considered the jewel of Southern Ontario s Durham Region. The North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club has made multiple appearances on Golf Advisor s list of Top Courses in Canada. Over the years it has hosted numerous prestigious area championships. Deer Creek North is known for its exciting target-style challenges, tight tree-lined fairways, artful bunkering, tricky greens, and consistently impressive playing conditions. All three nines have unique characteristics, but they all demand accurate shotmaking. The Diamond-9 is quite diverse, with long, tree-lined narrow fairways and carries over hazards to small greens. Like the Diamond-9, the Ruby-9 of the North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club features intriguing doglegs. It is the shortest of the three nines but it also has more elevation changes. The Black Pearl-9 continues the theme of tight holes at the North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club while showcasing some of the club s most memorable signature tests. There s no better example than the par-4 2nd hole with its island green. Each day the club establishes a routing rotation. The longest pairing of nines at the North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club is the Black Pearl/Diamond routing which maxes out at over 6,500 yards. All of the nine feature three tee decks. Though the golf grounds are hilly, the course is very walkable. Play in the fall continues until the weather shuts the course down. The only onsite practice facilities are a pair of putting greens. For anyone who wants to warm up before their tee time, the club recommends Salem Ridge, a nearby sister facility with a full driving range and short game area. Be advised that you'll need to drive your car there and pay a separate fee. Both the South Course and the North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club share a clubhouse that has a pro shop and a restaurant. To enjoy what many players believe is the best test in the Durham region, book a tee time at the North Course at Deer Creek Golf Club
