Golf Courses Near Cookeville, TN

Nestled in the hills and mountains on the Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Knoxville, Cookeville enjoys a reputation as one of best small towns to visit in Tennessee. When it comes to making tee times, Cookeville doesn’t disappoint either. Belle Acres Golf Club, a 9-hole layout that dates back to 1930, has recently benefited from a renovation project and new management. Keep an eye out for Hot Deals when making tee times at Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle Golf Club, a player-friendly, university-owned course with wide landing areas, small greens, and a tough three-hole finishing stretch, and at White Plains Golf Course, a par-72 layout that sits in a valley surrounded by mountains and features a back nine with four par 3s. In 2020 it was Golf Advisor’s #20 course in Tennessee. Southern Hills Golf and Country Club doesn’t have any sand bunkers, although water and OB will add some inhibition to your swing. About 25 miles out of town, RiverWatch Golf Club regularly earns Golf Advisor honors as one of Tennessee’s best courses and, better still, you can score Hot Deals, too.

Cookeville is a college town that is home to five schools, including the highly regarded Tennessee Tech University. When you go downtown, the Westside Cultural District is full of restaurants, arts and entertainment venues, and specialty shops. Top attractions include the Cookeville Depot Museum, which celebrates railroading life; the Cookeville History Museum and Children’s Museum; and the Joan Derryberry Art Gallery. Many tourists are drawn to Cookeville’s impressive parks and natural attractions, as numerous caves and more than 150 waterfalls dot the surrounding region. Just 10 minutes from downtown, City Lake Natural Area is great for kayaking and paddle boarding. A little farther away, Monterey Natural Park’s Bee Rock offers the best view of the area’s mountains and valleys. Chances are you’ll also gain an appreciation for Cookeville’s natural splendor when you have a tee time at one of its golf courses.
