Golf Courses Near Blythewood, SC

“Blythewood, a fast-growing suburb of Columbia, South Carolina, is known for its horse farms. Since what’s good for horses is often good for golfers, it’s not surprising that Blythewood is home to very attractive golf courses. With Augusta, GA just 85 miles away, Blythewood can turn into a bonafide golf destination during Masters Week. The most coveted public tee time in Blythewood is Cobblestone Park Golf Course, where you’ll find 27 holes that ramble over hilly terrain and around lakes. Golf Advisor rated Cobblestone Park #6 on its list of top courses in the entire U.S. in 2020. The Windermere Club is a fun Pete Dye design with wide, tree-lined fairways, subtle elevation changes, a few lakes, and lots of strategic options. Keep an eye out for Hot Deals at both Cobblestone Park and Windermere. Also in Blythewood, Columbia Country Club is a highly regarded 27-hole private facility, although it has been known to open its tee sheets up to non-members during Masters Week. Many more public and private courses can be found in Columbia and other nearby towns.

Blythewood likes to think of itself as a small town with a metropolitan mentality. Thanks to its many stables and equestrian facilities. Blythewood rivals Aiken and Camden for horse supremacy in South Carolina. Known as “the other horse country,” Blythewood features several horse farms that offer riding instruction. Civic pride shines at Doko Meadows Park, a family-centric park with trails, sculpture gardens, and a large amphitheater. Blythewood boasts a lively Farmers Market, a community history museum, and numerous festivals throughout the year. Better still, Columbia’s myriad attractions are just minutes away. Charlotte also makes for a great day trip. If it’s a nice day, though, chances are you’ll want to spend it on one of Blythewood’s appealing golf courses.”
