It is Nebraska’s oldest continuous settlement, it is on the Lewis and Clark Trail, and during World War II the airplanes that dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were made at the Martin Bomber manufacturing plant here. Nowadays, Bellevue is a suburb of Omaha and widely regarded as one of the best places to live in Nebraska. Bellevue is a predominantly quiet place (excepting the Air Force planes).
