Known as the “”City of Presidents,”” Quincy has plenty of historic landmarks and attractions to keep any visitors busy. It was the birth place of both John Adams and son John Quincy Adams, the third and sixth U.S. presidents respectively. John Hancock was also born in Quincy, and besides putting the first signature on the Declaration of Independence, Hancock was also the president of the first Continental Congress. Can’t miss historic sites include Adams National Historic Park, the Thomas Crane Public Library, United First Parish Church and the USS Salem and United States Naval and Shipbuilding Museum. Quincy, a Boston suburb of just over 100,000 people, also has plenty of great local restaurants, pubs and breweries. Quincy is also a great place for golfers to get tee times. One option is the heralded 27-hole Granite Links, which was built from an old quarry and features great views of the Boston skyline. Presidents Golf Course is another good option open to the public.
