Golf Courses near Cumming, GA
Whether it’s hiking, biking, fishing, playing golf or enjoying arts and entertainment, Cumming has it covered. A north suburb of Atlanta, this town of around 20,000 is located near Lake Sidney Lanier, a hotspot for outdoor water activity as well as hiking, biking and climbing at the near 1,000-acre Sawnee Mountain Preserve. The preserve offers all sorts of trails, playgrounds, picnic areas and an amphitheater to go with its visitors center. In town, there’s the School Street Playhouse and plenty of local restaurants and bars. There are antique car shows, tractor shows and rodeos at the Cumming Fairgrounds. And the Cumming County Fair & Festival attracts thousands every October. The golf in the area is pretty good as well with plenty of tee times offered in Cumming and the surrounding area. One of the best is nearby Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course, a resort layout ranked the second best golf course in Georgia in 2018 by Golf Advisor. Other good public layouts include municipal Sugar Hill Golf Club and Hampton Golf Village.
