Detroit metro area. That’s because this Motor City suburb has much to offer, including Lake Saint Clair Metropark, which is located on the shoreline. It offers nature trails, a nature center, playgrounds, pools, picnic area, a dock and a beach. Known as “BoatTown USA” locally because of its marinas, Harrison Charter Township also has its fair share of golf, both in town and just a few miles away. The St. Clair Shores Golf Club, for example, offers public tee times. Opened in 1975 and designed by Jerry and Bruce Matthews, it’s a 6,000-yard par 70 that’s always in good shape. And even more local is the Lake St. Clair Metropark Golf Course, an 18-hole par 3 that’s perfect for families or anyone else who just wants to work on their irons and short games.
