Golf Courses in McKinney, TX
The second largest city in Collin County behind Plano, McKinney is a thriving north Dallas suburb that offers a historical district, plenty of eateries, a lakefront park, a couple of wineries and a couple of breweries, including one that was founded by German brew master. The area also has plenty of golf tee times to offer, especially on the private side, but there's some good public golf as well. Oak Hollow Golf Club, an 18-hole par 70 course carved out of a forest, is open to the public, Next door in Plano, just a few miles away, is another intriguing public option at The Courses at Water Creek, which offers just about every golf experience imaginable, from its 18-hole Traditions Course to a par-3 course to a short six-hole course perfect for working on the short-game. There's also top notch instruction there. Other good public options in the area include Westridge in McKinney, Twin Creeks in Allen, and Heritage Ranch in Fairview. TPC Craig Ranch, site of the GTE Byron Nelson in 2021, leads a list of great private clubs in the area.
