Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club, located in Fairview, Texas, is one of the premier upscale places to play in the vast Dallas Metroplex region. Located 30 miles northeast of Dallas, the club attracts players who come back again and again and rave about its highly intriguing layout, fine course conditioning, first-rate amenities, and friendly service. Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club perennially earns honors as one of Golf Advisor s list of Top Courses in Texas. It has also appeared on Golf Advisor s prestigious Golfer s Choice honor roll of the top 50 public courses in the United States. Esteemed course architect Arthur Hills created a stunning layout in 2001 within a gated adult residential community. The playing field spreads out expansively over a mix of flatlands and gently rolling terrain with generous fairways lined by mature pecan, oak and cedar trees and at times by lots of houses. Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club features six different sets of tee markers plus two additional hybrid teeing options. The judiciously spaced distances range from as short as 4,000 yards to as long as 6,988 yards, ensuring that everyone can have a fun day of play. The round gets off to an exciting start with an option-filled par 4. While most tee shots on this opener will be all about positioning for the second shot, long hitters can take advantage of the downhill slope of the terrain to possibly run their tee shot onto the green. After holes 1 and 2, Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club dips into a housin-free valley, as three creeks run through the golf grounds. The contrasting back nine occupies higher ground and is more exposed to the ever-present North Texas winds. Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club is known for its superb set of par 3s, highlighted by the gorgeous 12th hole, a test that slopes downhill and toward a fountain-filled lake on the right. A lone tree between the water and the green also obscures entry to the canted putting surface. Even though houses are around much of the Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club golf grounds, some of the holes offer delightful seclusion. The par-3 16th, almost completely enveloped by trees, is a case in point. The greens on the course are large and fast. They are also tough to read and may not always break the way you think they will. Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club features an 18-acre practice facility that includes a grass driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a sand bunker with multiple target greens. The spacious clubhouse, with its interiors trimmed with maple wood, resembles the grand ranch houses of the Texas Hill Country. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a restaurant. Don t delay when making a tee time. It s well worth heading to the northeast reaches of the Metroplex to play the highly rated and ever-popular Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club.
