Located in La Habra, California, near the border with LA County, this 1999 creation from Robert Muir Graves and Damian Pascuzzo attracts golfers of all skill levels with its varied, intriguing layout, pretty scenery, and affordable tee times. Graves and Pascuzzo etched the playing field, which features four sets of tee markers that range from as short as 5,180 yards to as long as 6,558 yards, into a hillside. During the round you ll face uphill, downhill and sidehill lies and stances. Water enters the fray on three holes and you ll have to hit over ravines on two holes. The chief hazards at Westridge Golf Club are the thick brush and environmentally sensitive areas that populate the playing field and separate some of the parallel fairways. Due to the tilts and slopes of the playing field, errant shots quickly drift into lost ball territory. Westridge Golf Club is known for its nice collection of par 3s. Some of the prettiest holes terrace downhill with long views of the valley and the San Gabriel Mountains. The undulating greens come in a variety of shapes and sizes and tend to roll quite fast in the afternoon. Because of the heavy volume of play and the challenge of the layout, you ll be best served to schedule your tee time as early as possible in the day to have the best chance to move along during the round. Westridge Golf Club stakes its claims for having some of the best practice facilities in Orange County. You ll find a lighted and covered double-decker driving range, a short game area, and a putting green. The club features a pro shop, a snack bar that opens early in the morning, and a restaurant that opens for lunch and stays open into the evening. The club is also a distinctive venue for weddings and events.
