The newest of the three courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort and also the longest, the Wolf Course is vintage Pete Dye with plenty of difficulty, beautiful scenery and impeccable conditioning. Ranked nearly five stars on GolfPass and rated as one of Golfweek Magazine 2010's "Best Places You Can Play" and "Best Resort Courses," the 7,604 layout opened in 2001. The course, which is surrounded by incredible mountain views, was showcased early on with Annika Sorenstam (64) and Karrie Webb (65) playing in a classic Shell Wonderful World of Golf. The course, which has five sets of tees, is known for severe undulations, alternate landing areas, and a stunning signature hole. The par-3 15th is certainly reminiscent of the 17th at sawgrass with its island green, playing anywhere from 98 to 182 yards. No matter the yardage you play from, this hole will get your attention. The 15th begins an incredible finishing stretch that includes the par-4 17th that plays 486 yards from the back tees, and the tough par-18th. The last hole is not only long at 496 yards, but there is water down much of the right side. In addition to the three courses, which also include the Sun Mountain and Snow Mountain layouts -- Paiute Golf Resort, which is named for the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, also has excellent practice facilities that include a large driving range, short-game practice area, and putting greens. Golf instruction is also available at the resort's golf academy. And the golf shop, one of the largest in the West, offers the latest apparel, accessories and equipment. Dining at Paiute is also top notch with Bar & Grill serving breakfast most days and lunch every day. The resort also partners with MGM Grand for stay-and-play packages.
