Opened in 1903, the club is well known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The course was originally designed by Sandy Herd and extended to 18 holes by James Braid in 1906. The Neo Gothic Thrybergh Hall clubhouse overlooks the 18th and features a spacious patio where drinks can be enjoyed, with full catering available. Facilities include a putting green, chipping green, driving range and a well stocked Pro Shop offering equipment, clothing, coaching and custom fitting services. Set across the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, this par 70, 6,322 yard parkland course is considered one of the finest in the region. It is relatively flat, making it suitable for most golfers to walk. Tree lined fairways place a premium on accuracy, while the well protected greens ensure approaches remain a challenge for all abilities. The course has recently benefited from a major bunker refurbishment programme, with many bunkers reshaped, rebuilt and fitted with modern liners and new sand to improve playability and drainage.
