Kachur s Golf Club is a picturesque golf course in central Saskatchewan. Located off of Highway 3 about six miles west of Prince Albert, the third largest city in the province, the championship course delights players with its beautiful natural setting, fun layout, and friendly ambiance. Katchur s Golf Club, which opened back in 1972, is fun and playable for golfers of all skill levels. Though many of the fairways at Katchur s Golf Club run parallel to each other, stands of trees provide secluded playing corridors that enhance the playing experience. The holes move in a variety of directions. Some fairways are generous, others tighten considerably the closer you approach the putting surface. A river twists through a portion of Katchur s Golf Club, adding intrigue and challenge with a couple of forced carries to greens. The 5th hole features an island green. Katchur's Golf Club has just two teeing options per hole. You'll put your game to the test on this par-70 course from either the 5,347-yard forward tee deck or the 6,128-yard back markers. The routing consists of four par 4s, twelve par 4s, and two par 5s. Most of the par 4s are of a sporty length of about 350 yards, but there s some added heft on the back nine with three 400+-yard par 4s and a 550-yard par 5. Though the well conditioned golf grounds ramble with gentle elevation changes in a few spots, the playing field is primarily flat. Other than the aforementioned river, a few ponds, and the trees, there s no hidden trouble at Katchur s Golf Club. You don t have to worry about sand bunkers, but the bentgrass greens are small and a bit domed. Practice facilities are limited to a putting green. The course typically?closes for the season sometime?in October, depending on the weather. Katchur s has a heated pavilion that enables the club to host special events for up to 300 people.
