The course was designed by Tom Morris, James Braid and Joe Wilkinson, and boast one of the finest examples of a Tom Morris design golf hole. The heritage the course retains from remaining mostly unchanged since it was laid out is complemented by the contemporary clubhouse that boasts all the modern amenities and welcoming atmosphere needed to make it a popular venue for both business and social events. The course being virtually treeless gives us the opportunity to experience the type of golf that lures so many of the greats to play whatever the weather in the British Open. It is this likeness to the classic open courses that gave a helping hand to Baildon’s most famous member Gordon J Brand who finished 2nd to Greg Norman in the 1986 British Open.
