Situated along Brays Bayou, east of downtown, the Gus Wortham Park Golf Course has been an attraction for golfers since the early 1900’s when it was the Houston Country Club. The course is now managed and maintained by the Houston Municipal Golf Association, an operation of the Houston Golf Association.
Gus Wortham provides challenging elevated tees and uphill carries to greens that make you use all your clubs. The course is relatively wide open, making it attractive for all levels of golfers. Your shot-making skills will be tested on several of the “short but challenging” par fours. Playing to as much as 6400 yards, Gus Wortham is a fun course located only minutes from downtown.
A full driving range and practice putting green is available for practice or warming up daily. The last bucket of range balls will be sold at 5 p.m. Tee times are available daily. Gus Wortham is a non-metal spike facility.
