Tracing its roots back to 1910, Valley International Country Club features a Championship Course in a setting laid out among the palm trees and warm South Texas tropical breezes. The course, located in Brownsville at the southern tip of Texas, is a par-70 layout measuring 6,538 yards from the tips. Water comes into play on 12 holes, most notably on the back nine, where the only hole without it is the 448-yard par-4 18th. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 422-yard par 4, which has a large lake all down the left side off the tee and another all along the right side on the approach. As you might imagine, wind is always a factor here, too. There are four sets of tees, with the shortest at just under 5,000 yards. The facility offers a golf shop, bar and snack shop. And while Valley International Country Club doesn't offer a driving range, it does have a par 3 course.
