Located along the banks of the Trinity River, Riverside Golf Club is a solid play with lots of doglegs, water, some deep-faced bunkers, and good conditions to ensure an enjoyable golf experience. This classic Larry/Roger Packard-designed course, which can play almost 7,000 yards from the back tees, has a bit of a links-style feel to it with plenty of room to drive the ball, but approaches that require a little more precision. The greens have some undulation and slope, and they are also raised, which means they will certainly test your iron and approach game. What the golf course excels in is fun, with lots of great holes, including a nice collection of par 3s. One of them is the 14th, which plays 181 yards from the back tees (there are five sets of tees in all). The hole features three large bunkers on the right side protecting the green. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 434-yard dogleg left par 4, which features a carry over a natural area off the tee and the Trinity River along the left side. It's a good risk-reward hole in that the more natural area you carry, the shorter the shot is to the green. In addition to the course, Riverside Golf Club also offers a driving range, short-game area with practice bunker, and putting green. Inside the clubhouse is a beautiful golf shop with the latest in apparel and accessories. The facility, known for its friendly service, also has a clubhouse snack shop, which offers hot dogs, sandwiches and beverages, including beer.
