A HISTORIC Palm Desert golf course,
designed by the Grand Slam Winner, Gene Sarazen
Shadow Mountain Golf Club, a semi-private Palm Desert golf course, was
designed by the Grand Slam Winner, Gene Sarazen. It was the first Palm
Desert golf course when it opened in March 1958. The golf club offers a
variety of golf memberships, affordable public play and golf instruction.
Located just 2 blocks from world famous El Paseo shopping district, Shadow
Mountain Golf Club is built to test but not overtax golfers, the par 70
Palm Desert golf course is one of few in the desert that can still be
walked. The golf course challenges golfers of all abilities and rewards
golfers who shape their shots and use their head more than their driver.
With over 600 mature palm trees, the fairways are well defined and the
challenging greens are protected by well placed sand bunkers. Tucked in the
foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains of south Palm Desert, Shadow Mountain
Golf Club is protected from the winds that plague many desert golf courses.
