Cattails Golf Course formally known as Alamosa Golf Club, started out as a 9 hole facility around 50 years ago. In 1991, with the partnership of the City of Alamosa and countless individuals, the golf course then added the back nine. At that time the course was renamed Cattails Golf Course. The new nine brought an experience of a traditional front nine that is around 50 years old and a new modern designed back nine. This gave the golf course a unique feel on each side. Since 1995 there have been many changes to the golf course.
Such changes are: construction of new greens on the front nine, irrigation improvements, new fences and bridges, new tee boxes, a new maintenance building, a new parking lot, brand new 70 unit private cart storage building, and updated club cartstorage building. The most exciting recent addition, is our new 6000 square foot Club House.
Cattails Golf Course has a reputation of Getting Away from The Crowds. There is abundant wild life and a 360 degree view of the Sangre De Cristo and San Juan mountain ranges. The golf course has hosted many events over the years such as the Colorado State Championships in 2003 and The RMAC Collegiate Championships various times. A trip to Cattails Golf Course will test your game and reward you with a relaxing round of golf.
