Tracy Golf & Country Club, located in the San Joaquin Valley about midway between Livermore and Modesto, is a member-owned private club that welcomes public tee times and has a reputation for providing good value. Half of the course lies on one side of I-580, half on the other. This is a course where beginners and novices can gain confidence without being overwhelmed. The small greens are a strong suit of the course. They roll smoothly but putts, which break toward the valley, are tough to read. The clubhouse features a full service pro shop and a restaurant that is open from early morning through the mid-afternoon.
