Ever since opening in the late 1990s, this upscale daily fee facility located 35 miles east of San Francisco has been a popular Bay Area tee time thanks to its private club feel, reputation for superb course maintenance, and highly intriguing layout. The Course at Wente Vineyards has appeared frequently on Golf Advisor s list of the Top Courses in California. It is notable for being Greg Norman s first design in the United States. Surrounded by golden hills and well removed from any other development, The Course at Wente Vineyards is an amenity of an 1883-vintage winery that holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating family-owned winery in the country. The playing field rambles amidst three distinct topographies native woodlands, mature vineyards and hills of natural grasslands with more than 200 feet of elevation change between its highest and lowest spots.
