Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Rancocas Golf Club is a challenging layout that blends into its natural surroundings flawlessly. The club, which is named after a local Indian tribe, has beautifully manicured fairways, smooth greens and a nice variety of classic holes. Opened in 1966, the par-71 course has three sets of tees, measuring from 5,074 yards to 6,602 yards. The par 5s can be particularly daunting. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 585-yard 10th, a double dogleg right with bunkers down the left side and out of bounds right. The second and third shots play up a tight fairway lined by trees on both sides. The no. 2-handicap hole is also a par 5, the 568-yard fourth hole. The front nine of Rancocas Golf Club has the majority of the more than 90 bunkers on the course. The back side features more rolling hills, and tree-lined fairways. It's also the longer of the two sides since it has two par 5s -- 18 is the other one -- vs. the front, which has only one. Rancocas Golf Club also has excellent practice facilities, which include a 16-station driving range, short-game area with chipping green, practice putting green.? Inside the 3,500-square foot clubhouse is a snack bar and golf shop, the latter of which is well-stocked and opens up to the practice green and 10th tee. Guests of this semi-private club can also book space indoors or outdoors for special events.?
