Originally designed by William F. Bell in 1960, Peacock Gap & Country Club remains a Marin County favorite for daily fee players and members alike. The semi-private facility, which features a par-71 golf course that measures 6,253 yards from the tips, is a parkland layout with excellent conditioning, a great variety of holes, a beautiful clubhouse and terrific practice facilities. It's been rated the "Best in County" by Marin Magazine and is located just 25 miles north of San Francisco. With amazing views of the countryside, the course is playable by all levels with four sets of tees that begin at 4,828 yards. The course has four par 5s and five par 3 holes, the latter of which range from 130 yards to 190 yards from the back tees. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 381-yard par-4 fifth. It's a tight dogleg left to a well-guarded green that has a bunker in the front and three on the left side. Peacock Gap & Country Club offers an all-grass driving range that can accommodate 30 players. A chipping, pitching and bunker play area is also offered for players to work on their short game as well as practice putting greens. The facility's large clubhouse includes a fully-stocked golf shop that offers club rentals as well as the latest in apparel, accessories and equipment. Group and individual lessons are also available. Peacock Gap also has a restaurant open for breakfast and lunch, as well as a banquet facility, capable of playing host to 1,000 guests.
