One of the top public facilities in the Daytona Beach area, Halifax Plantation Golf Club is a challenging, yet fun golf course with tree-lined fairways, plenty of bunkers and undulating greens. The course, which was designed by Bill Amick and opened in 1993, can stretch to 7,100 yards from the tips, but there are five sets of tees, starting at 4,888 yards. Water comes into play on just three holes, but there are plenty of doglegs and some lengthy par 4s. One of those is the 448-yard eighth hole, a par-4 that's relatively straight, but most players will be coming into the green with a long iron, hybrid of fairway wood. The course has a good collection of par-3 holes as well, with two of them over 200 yards, including the sixth, which is 231 yards. Course amenities include a driving range, short-game area with practice bunker, and practice putting green. The club also offers lessons from its dedicated teaching professional. Plantation Golf Club also has an impressive clubhouse. Inside, you'll find a well-stocked golf shop with the latest in apparel and accessories. There's also The Pub and The Tavern. The Pub is a great spot to watch sports on the big screen. The Tavern, which is open until 7:30 p.m. every day and also features a weekend brunch, is known as one of the best eating establishments in town, open to 7:30 p.m., It offers a selection of soups, appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and beverages. The club also has a conference room and grand ballroom, which can accommodate up to 250 guests.
