Royal Hawaiian Golf Club on Oahu is one of the most beautiful courses in America's fiftieth state. It also has appeared on Golf Advisor s list of Top Courses in Hawaii. Though Norman made alterations to soften the challenge somewhat, Royal Hawaiian Golf Club is still a very tough course. The layout is not long five sets of tee markers stretch the playing field from 4,492 yards to 6,609 yards. To ensure full enjoyment of the course and to manage the forced carries players must make prudent selections. While Royal Hawaiian Golf Club's jungle-like front nine features one rousing hole after another, the back nine is more open and easier. While the 1st hole establishes the tone for this exotic round, the joyride truly begins with the long cart path drive through the rain forest to the enchanted 2nd hole, a secluded par 3 with a green hanging in a pond. No matter how players match up against Royal Hawaiian Golf Club s challenge, the 'Jurassic Park' setting of royal palms, bananas, and koa trees, along with exotic plants and prolific birdlife and those green mountains make for an unforgettable day.
