Located 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, Solmar Golf Links is the centerpiece of an 800-plus acre resort. Formerly known as Rancho San Lucas, the course was designed by Greg Norman and opened in 2020. The 7,210-yard, par-72 layout has several holes right on the beach, most notably the par-3 third, which follows the sea and is a great spot for whale watching during the winter. Solmar Golf Links is also known for its signature island green at the par-3 17th hole. The 17th isn?t like any other island green you?ll play, however, as there is a cactus in play in the bunker left of the green. The course features five sets of tees, starting at a little more than 5,100 yards. It has a links feel to it with its sharp edge pot bunkers and sod-wall bunkers near the green, reminiscent of the courses on the British Isles. The course, much of which also brings desert landscape into play, is grassed with Seadwarf paspalum turf, which allows for run-up shots to the green. Besides the course, there are full-practice facilities with a driving range, short-game area, and practice putting green. The course also features two luxurious comfort stations. And the ranch-themed clubhouse includes a well-stocked golf shop and a wonderful restaurant and event lawn that overlooks the course and the sea.
