Tracing its roots back to the early part of the 20th century, Big Cedar Golf Club has a great history and a bright present and future. Founded in 1931 as a nonprofit, it has continued to grow and expand. Today, it?s a wonderful facility with a fun and challenging nine-hole par 35 course, located near Big Cedar Point. Not just a place to play golf, however, this a gathering place for the community. The golf course features tree-lined fairways, smallish greens, and great conditions. The first hole is just 348 yards, but this par 4 is the no. 1 handicap hole. It?s a sharp dogleg right with a large tree in the fairway in front of the green. The only par 5 on the course is the second, and it?s just 450 yards, so right away after the first, there?s a good scoring opportunity. Back-to-back par 3s, followed by five straight par 4 holes round out this quirky, but fun layout. Besides the golf course, there is a putting green and chipping green. There is no driving range, but there is an indoor simulator, and lessons are available. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop as well as a restaurant. The latter is open every day during the season and features an outdoor patio with tables, overlooking the course.
