Originally opened in 1964, Old Stone Fort Golf Course has seen great improvements over the past few years. Formerly Manchester Country Club, this excellent nine-hole layout plays a little more than 3,00 yards from the back tees, of which there are four sets. This scenic layout, which was reopened in 2017 after being dormant for a few years, is surrounded by the Duck River and mature hardwoods. The course features little trouble, except for the pond that comes into play left of the green on the par-3 third. The longest hole is the par-5 second, which is 536 yards. It?s a straight hole with a fairly wide fairway, so it?s a pretty good opportunity for par or birdie. The other par 5, the fifth is also more than 500 yards from the back tee. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 385-yard fourth hole, a tight dogleg right that plays around tall trees. Besides the golf course, Old Stone Fort Golf Course, which is built on a historical Indian and Civil War site, offers a driving range and practice putting green. It?s a great spot for beginners or anyone who wants to get a quick round and work on their game. The course is just five minutes from Interstate 24.
