Offering nice views, good course conditions, and a great variety of holes, Winters Run Golf Club is a great way to spend four hours. The course, which opened in 1973 and was designed by Buddy Loving, has five sets of tees and plays from just over 5,000 yards to nearly 6,800 yards from the tips. There?s elevation change, plenty of doglegs, and a few obstacles from time to time. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 402-yard, par-4 eighth. It?s straight, but narrow with a creek and thick trees down the right side and a troublesome pond short of the green. One of the most interesting holes is the short, par-5 17th. Lots of water comes into play off the tee, but if you can hit it long down the left side of the fairway, you?ll have a chance to hit the green in two. It?s a good opportunity for birdie before the difficult 18th, a par-4 that plays 438 yards from the back tee. Besides the golf course, Winters Run Golf Club also has a driving range, short-game area, and practice putting green. There?s also a golf school for anyone looking for lessons, plus club-fitting services. And inside the clubhouse are locker rooms, a golf simulator, and a well-stocked golf shop with a great selection of apparel and accessories. There is also a clubhouse restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And there?s both indoor and outdoor dining on the patio, which features great views and a fire pit.
