Designed by Johnny Miller, Star Valley View Golf Course is a stunning par-70 layout with incredible mountain views, a great variety of holes and beautiful water features, bunkering and greens. Miller -- former broadcaster, great player and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame -- is a longtime ranch owner in the area and avid fisherman. He said he lent his design chops to this municipal course as a way of giving back to the community that has been so good to him over the years. His goal was to fashion a course that would be great for the high school kids as well as the town residents and visitors. The course, which plays just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, excels in every area. Named the no. 3 course in 2020 by Golf Advisor readers, it's a compact layout that's easy to walk with gentle slopes near the Bridger/Teton National Forest foothills. The par-3 holes are especially intriguing. The 185-yard 17th, sets up a good finish to the course. Because of the large green, the pin position can be plus or minus 40 yards. And the 10th is the hardest hole on the course and also the signature hole, playing over a stream to a green some 210 yards away from the back tees. Speaking of tees, there are four sets, starting at 4,800 yards. Star Valley Golf Course also offers a 280-yard driving range, short-game area, and practice putting green. There is also a well stocked golf shop with the latest apparel and accessories.
