Springwood Country Club has a long and interesting history. Springwood Country Club was founded in 1905 by a group of golf lovers, the original 9-hole course was built on land that had previously been used as a fruit orchard and was donated by Mr JT Ellison. There is still one remaining pear tree which can be seen between the 1st and 9th greens. Today Springwood Country Club is a stunning par-69, 18-hole links course. The 5,391-yard layout provides an enjoyable challenge for both experienced and novice golfers and has hosted notable names, including a young Greg Norman, who competed in the Springwood Pro-Am back in 1976. Springwood Country Club is well known for its welcoming, laid-back atmosphere and its fantastic restaurant, the Orchard Brasserie.
