Dainton Park Golf Club is positioned in 125 acres of the Devonshire countryside which overlook both the Dartmoor National Park and South Hams. It was originally designed in 1991 and is considered by many to be one of the harder tests in the South West. The club offers a very warm welcome to any visitors and offers a range of added benefits such as a floodlit driving range and bar and restaurant facilities.
The course at Dainton is an interesting challenge as each hole is different due to the undulating fairways and raised tees. There are numerous lakes and ponds around the course that, if not played correctly, will swallow your ball and ruin a good scorecard. One of the signature holes is the 2nd which is a test by anyone’s standard as it has a large pond down the left as well as OB and then trees down the right. It definitely requires a straight drive but then you also have to be accurate with your second as the green has two smaller ponds protecting it as well as a large bunker.
