The 18-hole Dogwood Golf Course, the featured layout at the 27-hole at Metfield Golf Complex, is one of seven courses operated by the Bella Vista Property Owners Association in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Located on the east side of Highway 71 and winding amidst townhouses, this fun and very playable course delights members and visitors alike with its diverse mix of wide open and tree-lined holes, its sporty length, and its pleasing terrain that features some hills but otherwise is pretty gentle. Designed by Ault, Clark & Associates in 1978, Dogwood Golf Course has appeared multiple times on Golf Advisor's list of the Top Courses in Arkansas. The par-71 (36-35) routing can play as short as 3,817 yards and as long as 6,138 yards. Five sets of judiciously spaced tee markers ensure there s an appropriate distance for everyone. You ll find a nice mix of holes that present different looks throughout the round. The bunkers, while strategically placed, are shallow and not overly penal. Water in the form of ponds enters the fray on just three holes at Dogwood Golf Course, including an exhilarating par 3 finishing hole over water. The greens roll true and slow enough so you can stroke your putts boldly. Though walking is permitted, most players take a cart because of the hilly terrain. Dogwood Golf Course, like all of the Bella Vista layouts, is especially beautiful in fall when the trees display their most colorful foliage. Practice facilities include a practice green for putting and chipping and three warm-up nets. The golf shop sells snacks and brats. For a fun but still challenging game that gives many players a chance to shoot a good score, a tee time at Dogwood Golf Course is a favorite option in Bella Vista.
