Brittany Golf Course, a 9-hole executive course in Bella Vista, Arkansas, has earned the nickname The Friendliest Course in Arkansas. One of seven courses operated by the Bella Vista Property Owners Association, the layout is the sister playing field to the 18-hole Dogwood Golf Course at Bella Vista s 27-hole Metfield Golf Complex. Brittany Golf Course is a beautiful and welcoming course. It s the go-to test for brand new golfers and beginners, for young and old players, for those who don t have time for a standard round, and even for players who want to get in a little extra short game practice. Designed by course architect Bill Love in 1968, Brittany Golf Course consists of five par 3s and four par 4s that make a clockwise circuit from the Metfield Clubhouse. Three sets of standard tee markers provide distance options of 1,323 yards, 1,716 yards, and 1,889 yards. (There s also a fourth option that turns every hole into a par 3 with individual holes measuring between 74 yards and 120 yards.) The round starts and ends with a par 3. The longest of the four par 4s is 335 yards. Brittany Golf Course rambles over pleasantly hilly terrain and amidst mature trees. You won t have to fear any water hazards. Though many players take carts, the playing field is ideal for walking. Chances are you ll be awed by the beauty of the grounds in fall. Practice facilities at the complex include a green for putting and chipping and three warm-up nets. The golf shop sells snacks and brats. A few years ago Brittany Golf Course was on the verge of closing permanently but the members of the Property Owners Association stepped up to keep this longstanding, beloved course open.
