Thetford Golf Club was founded in 1912 and was originally designed by Charles Mayo. Since opening Philip Ross-MacKenzie, James Braid, Cameron Sinclair and Donald Steel have made additional changes to the course. Thetford Golf Club serves superb homemade food at great value in the clubhouse, which goes down very well with visitors and members alike. The club also has a well-stocked Pro Shop, where golfers can find all they need before teeing off.
Thetford Golf Course is a par 72, heathland course that measures 6,849 yards in length. With its superb drainage Thetford Golf Course is playable all year round and is regarded as being one of the best courses in the area. Tree lined fairways and heather and gorse punish any errant tee shots, making accuracy off the tee the key to shooting a good score. Each hole has its own individual character, and there is a great deal of wildlife to be found on the course making it a very interesting round of golf.
