In 1969 Arthur Temple, had a vision of opening a nine hole public Golf Course for the City of Diboll and donated to the City of Diboll substantial amounts of land for this vision. Mr. Temple's goal was to make it an attraction for the City. In a short period of time the Golf Course became recognized as one of the best public golf courses in East Texas. Again, with Mr. Temple's financial support, nine holes were added to the course in 1991 and the dream became Neches Pines Golf Course.
