The Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club is the layout that introduced championship golf to Ocean City, Maryland. This classic parkland layout from 1959 joins the newer Newport Bay Course to make up a 36-hole facility located just off of Highway 611, about 10 miles south of Ocean City. The Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club has stood the test of time and remains a popular tee time choice for locals and visitors alike on Maryland s Eastern Shore. Spread out on a flat, nicely wooded tranquil site, it is a fun and playable test for golfers of all skill levels, but selecting the proper set of tee is crucial to your enjoyment. The par-72 Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club provides four different tee options ranging from 5,095 yards to 6,701 yards. From the forward two sets of markers, the Seaside Course is a shot or two easier than the Newport Bay Course at Ocean City Golf Club, but if you take it on from the back two sets of tees, the traditional layout is three or four shots harder than the more modern layout. Long hitters really enjoy the challenge presented by this test that boasts an excellent collection of par 3s and exciting and reachable risk/reward par 5s. The chief difficulty throughout the round at the Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club comes from the narrowness of the fairways, from the trees and out of bounds, and from the very tough greens that tilt from back to front and roll downhill fast. Water comes into play on about eight holes, but there are no forced carries. While the Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club doesn t have the jaw-dropping vistas of the Newport Bay Course, you will catch distant glimpses of beautiful Newport Bay through the trees. Practice facilities include a driving range, chipping and pitching green, and an expansive putting green. The remodeled clubhouse boasts a well-stocked golf shop, space for large groups, and a restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner and features indoor and outdoor seating. The club stays open all year round. Don t miss out on a tee time at the atmospheric, old-style Seaside Course at Ocean City Golf Club.
