Oconomowoc, located 30 miles west of Milwaukee, is the only place in the U.S with five “O’s” in its name. That’s a good omen for golf. While Oconomowoc Country Club is private, the other three courses in Oconomowoc welcome tee times and present opportunities for hot deals. Paganica Golf Club is easy to enjoy while offering appropriate challenges with its tree-lined fairways and handful of water holes. The Club at Lac La Belle, which dates back to 1896, exudes a classic aura that delights beginners and skilled players alike as they seek to avoid the perils of a meandering stream. At Deertrak, flowerbeds, fountains and two waterfalls lend extra beauty to a course that wraps around a lake and features an island green and water in play on 12 holes. At the character-filled Kettle Moraine Golf Course in Dousman, the elevation changes and risk-reward options rise to a crescendo as the round progresses.
