Winchester, VA, a small city of 26,00 located at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley, is known for being one of America’s largest apple producers and the hometown of the great country music singer Patsy Cline. While you may not go crazy over Winchester’s golf courses, you will find more than enough appealing tee times in and around town. Rock Harbor Golf Club is a 36-hole facility in a serene setting. The Rock Course, which Golf Advisor rated #10 in Virginia in 2019, is adjacent to a rock quarry and features lots of boulders and limestone outcroppings. Meanwhile, the Boulder Course presents split fairways, alternate greens and stunning valley views. Nearby Front Royal is home to top-notch courses such as the North and South at Bowling Green Golf Club, the 27-hole Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, and Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club.
