With incredible views of the Wasatch Mountains and convenient proximity to Salt Lake City, Sandy is a laid back city with plenty to do both indoors and outdoors. The fifth largest city in Utah with a population of just under 100,000 people, Sandy has a great downtown, which underwent massive changes in recent years to make it more walker and entertainment friendly. Sandy is also home to Rio Tinto Stadium, where the Real Salt Lake team of the Major League Soccer plays its home games, as well as the Mountain America Exposition Center. There are plenty of hike and bike trails, like Bell Canyon Trail, which leads up to a beautiful waterfall and provides a great view of Salt Lake City. And Sandy’s Historical District as well as the Sandy Museum showcases the area’s roots and growth over the last 150 years. Sandy is also good spot for golfers to find tee times. River Oaks Golf Course, an 18-hole municipal in Sandy, and South Mountain Golf Club, designed by Gary Panks and David Graham, in nearby Draper, are among the top courses open to the public.
