In nearby Manning, you’ll find three stellar courses—Shannon Greens, The Players Course at Wyboo, and Wyboo Golf Club, which has been rated among South Carolina’s best by Golf Advisor. All three offer Hot Deals.

Poinsett State Park offers hiking, biking, and paddling, while Palmetto Park features walking trails and an excellent tennis facility. Swan Lake Iris Garden, a jewel that boasts over 120 varieties of irises, is also the only public park in the U.S. that has all eight species of swans. Sumter’s revitalized downtown features an array of shops, restaurants, and breweries. Additional attractions include several museums, historic homes, and the Sumter Farmers Market, but the city’s true treasure is The Sumter Opera House, where live performances have been staged for 125 years.
