Golf Courses Near Santee, SC
Located on I-95 on the south shore of Lake Marion, Santee may be a small town of only about 1,000 residents, but it is one of South Carolina’s bonafide golf destinations. You’ll find three outstanding courses right in Santee and several more within 30 minutes of town. Santee National Golf Club perennially appears on Golf Advisor’s list of top S.C. courses. The playing field alternates from classic low-country to highland terrain and features a memorable back nine that narrows in a wooded setting. Lake Marion borders Lake Marion Golf Course, a tree-lined layout with elevated tee boxes that reveal wide fairways, plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers. Santee Cooper Country Club enjoys a heavily wooded, natural setting with numerous doglegs, tough par 3s and a finishing hole with a glorious view of Lake Marion. Among the three notable courses in nearby Manning, Shannon Green Golf Club is a player-friendly course that features an island green on its 16th hole. Aside from its hotels and restaurants, Santee is pretty quiet, but Sumter and Columbia are within an hour’s drive and Charleston is less than 90 minutes from town.
