Golf Courses Near Greensburg, PA
Certainly one of the more historic spots in Pennsylvania, Greensburg, with its abundance of parks, museums, restaurants and other points of interest, is a good place to visit. With a population of just under 15,000 residents, Greenburg is a quaint small city located just 30 miles or so from Pittsburgh and 10 miles from Latrobe, hometown of the legendary Arnold Palmer. Here you can check out Revolutionary War sites like Bushy Run Battlefield and Fort Ligonier, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art or hike and bike numerous trails spread over local parks and wilderness. This is a pretty good location for golfers who are looking for tee times as well. The private Latrobe Country Club is where Palmer’s father, Deacon, was pro and superintendent and where Palmer learned the game. Public options include the Rees Jones-designed Totteridge Golf Course, a links-style layout that plays near 7,200 yards. Mount Odin Golf Course, a modest but enjoyable par-70, is good choice for public golfers, while Robertshaw Acres Golf Club in nearby Youngwood is an excellent nine-hole layout.
