Golf Courses Near Dublin, OH
A suburb of Columbus, Dublin is a small city of just under 50,000 with plenty of local restaurants, bars, parks, a few museums and breweries. As you might expect — given the name — there’s also a big Irish festival each year. But the area is also known for its golf and certainly the influence of golf’s all-time leader in major championships, Jack Nicklaus. The Ohio native, who excelled next door at Ohio State University before turning pro, designed the famous Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin. This exceptional private club is the host course for the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament, which Nicklaus hosts and draws the best players from around the world. And while Muirfield Village is private, there are plenty of great local courses that offer tee times to the public. Among them is the outstanding Safari Golf Club, located next to the zoo. Redesigned by Michael Hurdzan in 2012, the course is a real gem. Hurdzan and his partner Dana Fry also did the Golf Club of Dublin, which is fittingly inspired by the links-style courses in Ireland. And finally, the Kinsdale Golf & Fitness Club, an Arthur Hills layout that plays nearly 7,300 yards, is also open to everybody.
