Golf Courses Near Troy, NY
With plenty out of cool outdoor festivals, art galleries, museums, parks and lots of dining and entertainment options, the city of Troy attracts plenty of visitors with all kinds of interests. Part of the Capital District of New York, which also includes Albany and Schenectady, Troy also offers the historic Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, an historic landmark known for its great acoustics and variety of musical entertainment. The area is also pretty good for golfers looking for tee times. The most popular public course is Frear Park Golf Course, a nice municipal layout that originally opened in 1931 and was redone 30 years later by Robert Trent Jones Sr. More public golf can be found in nearby communities, such as the 36-hole Town of Colonie municipal course in Schenectady and Capital Hills Golf Course in Albany. There are also several nice private clubs, including the Country Club of Troy, which originally opened in 1925 and was redone by Tom Doak.
