Golf Courses Near Hampstead, NC
Hampstead, North Carolina is a quiet small town located between Wilmington and the military-oriented city of Jacksonville. Hampstead is popular with retirees, so it is no surprise that it’s a golf-happy place where you can find tee times and some hot deals at three eighteen-hole courses. Castle Bay Golf & Country Club provides a links-style game on rolling, grass-covered dunes with nary a tree in sight. At tree-lined Old Point Golf & Country Club a lovely stretch of scenic holes set on a lake follows a notorious par-5 that locals call “Jezebel.” Ironclad Golf & Beer Garden proceeds in a pleasing, figure-eight path that provides a view of the Intracoastal Waterway before delving into the woods. You’ll see lots of wildlife. For additional convenient tee time options, consider the courses of Wilmington and Leland.
Hampstead has a reputation for being a very friendly place. It is close to the beaches of Topsail Island and just minutes from the Intracoastal Waterway. Wilmington, with all of its dining, attractions, and nightlife, is no more than 45 minutes away. It’s interesting to note that Hampstead is one of the few places where Venus flytraps grow indigenously. Don’t worry, they won’t eat your golf ball.
